According to their website, in 2004, the company had over 13,000 legal actions, over 6,000 raids, and over 947 arrests due to counterfeiting. This means that you need to be extremely careful when purchasing a Louis Vuitton bag. What are the giveaways that you have a fake bag on your hands? First of all, make sure the tags aren't attached to the bag, in an authentic bag, they never are. If you see a yellow name card with the bag, it's probably a fake bag. Some fakes also attach a canvas swatch sample to the bag but a real Louis Vuitton bag will never have this. If you don't buy your handbag from the seller's website or from a reputable seller, you should study a real bag closely to know exactly what you're looking for and to avoid buying a fake.
