Belisi.com Tip: If you're going to be using your Italian leather handbag often, you never know when you could get caught out in the rain. It would be a smart move for you to waterproof your handbag so that the leather doesn't get damaged. Before you treat the bag, you must know a little bit about what kind of leather your bag is made from as this will make a difference in what kind of treatment you use. Make sure you don't use a heavy silicone wax or spray on a light, delicate leather. You should always perform a spot check on your bag in order to make certain the treatment won't discolor or damage your handbag. Treat a small, preferably hidden patch of the leather, let it sit over night, and see how it looks in the morning. Before applying treatment to your bag, clean the leather with a soft cloth. If you're using a wax to waterproof your bag, you can brush it on with a cloth or brush. Apply evenly to bag, making sure you pay special attention to the bag's stitching. If you're using a spray to treat your bag, hold the can about six inches away from the bag and make sure you spray it evenly. Allow your handbag to dry overnight. Although your leather handbag has been waterproofed, you should still try your best not to get caught with it out in the rain as water is never good for leather.
